MALT — Movies at the Little Theatre — is a community film club in Deloraine, Tasmania. We pick one film at a time, screen it well, and leave the bar open before and after so there's room to talk about it.

Carol

Todd Haynes · 2015 · United Kingdom · 118 min

New York, 1952. Therese, a young shopgirl with quiet ambitions, meets Carol — an older woman in the midst of a difficult divorce. What begins as a chance encounter across a department store counter becomes an affair that reshapes both their lives, played out against a society that would rather they didn't exist.
